A MAN accused of murder has appeared in court this morning after a stabbing in Headington.

Egidio Da Silva Alves, 27, of The Slade, Oxford, appeared at Oxford Crown Court over the death of Domingos Ramalho.

He will not enter a plea until his next court hearing in April.

Mr Romalho, 35, from Oxford, was found with stab wounds in Windmill Road, Headington, on Monday afternoon.

Mr Romalho was taken to the John Radcliffe hospital with life threatening injuries, but died in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Da Silva Alves was arrested on Monday and later charged with one count of murder and possession of a bladed article.

Detective Inspector Dave Hubbard, from Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime unit, said he was aware the incident would be 'concerning' for the community.

The family of Domingos Ramalho has since released a tribute which read: "Domingos was a kind, loving and caring man.

"He was a good and trusted friend to many and a family man dedicated to his partner and children.

"His sudden loss affects us all greatly and he will always be in our hearts and prayers and will never be forgotten."
