A WOMAN was assaulted and almost had her phone snatched in an attempted robbery yesterday morning.
Police were called to the incident which happened outside the Co-operative Food store, in Marigold Square, Carterton, at about 6.10am.
A male offender assaulted a woman and attempted to rob her, but did not succeed in taking anything from her.
A white, blonde man, believed to be in his 20s, is now being sought by police.
He is thought to be about 5ft 10ins and was wearing dark clothing.
The woman did not sustain injuries during the incident.
