The average price of a newly-built home in Oxford has moved above the £500,000 mark for the first time since early 2015.

New figures released yesterday by the office for national statistics showed the average in the second quarter of this year was £500,588.

The last time prices passed the £500,000 mark was in the first quarter of 2015, before they dropped off again.

The average price of an existing home being sold on in the same period was £475,130, up from £472,020 in the previous quarter.
