THE end of roadworks in Old Abingdon Road is in sight after officials said work would finish ‘in a matter of days’.
The Environment Agency (EA) has partially closed the road and put in place temporary traffic lights while it carries out an archaeological survey.
This will inform work towards the Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme, a project to build a flood channel that will divert water away from homes and businesses in Oxford.
Today a spokeswoman for the EA said: “We have been there for several weeks but should be done in a matter of days. It will give us more information about what is under the ground.”
Work started on October 31.
