POLICE have published a list of specific witnesses as they continue to investigate the murder of Eamonn Anderson.

The 56-year-old was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after being kicked off his bike in High Street, Oxford, last month.

He died of his injuries on Friday, November 11.

Officers would now like to speak to several witnesses who were in the area at the time of the attack as part of the continuing investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Mike Lynch, of the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, said: “Firstly, we believe that there was a couple walking along Queen Street at about 10.55pm in the direction of Bonn Square, followed by another man who was not with them.

“Another man was walking past them in the opposite direction.

“The victim was in the road at the time of the incident. There was also a dog running around without a lead.

“We believe that any or all of the people described could have information relating to the assault which is vital to our investigation."

Police also want to speak to another man who might have information.

At about 11.30pm in High Street, shortly before the attack took place, the victim, followed by a group of men on foot, cycled past a man who was wearing light coloured trousers and a hooded top with a light coloured logo on the chest.

DCI Lynch added: "Again, we believe that this man could have witnessed the incident, or could have information which is vital to our investigation.

“None of these people have yet come forward, and so I would urge them to contact Thames Valley Police on the non-emergency number 101 as soon as possible.”

Iman St Clair, 18, of Kestrel Crescent, Oxford was charged with murdering Mr Anderson and appeared at Oxford Crown Court on Monday, November 21.

He was released on bail and is expected to enter a plea at his next court appearance on Friday, December 2.

A 23-year-old man and two 17-year-old boys, all from Oxford, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

On Wednesday, November 16 an 18-year-old man, and a 17-year-old boy, both from Oxford, were also arrested on suspicion of murder.

All five men have been released on bail until January 16 2017.
