Heavy wind could batter Oxfordshire this afternoon, with a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office.

The warning is in place until 5pm and people have been warned to remain vigilant after the Met Office said a 'brief spell' of very strong wind could lead to falling trees and debris.

Most places are forecast to miss the worst of the wind but some areas may experience gusts of up to 70mph.

Met Office chief forecaster Eddie Carroll said: "An area of rainfall moving eastwards is associated with some very strong and squally winds.

"The strongest winds are very localised so many places will not see disruption."

It comes after the county was hit by heavy rain earlier today.
