TALKS over a possible takeover of the Kassam Stadium by U's supporter group OxVox are still ongoing, the organisation has said.

On October 8 owner Firoz Kassam announced his intentions to sell the site, home of League One team Oxford United.

It is likely that the site will go to a community-based trust or a network of local partners interested in acquiring the stadium.

In a statement released today, OxVox said it will continue to take an 'influential, central and co-ordinating role' as the process develops.

There is no time frame on discussions at present but OxVox has promised to keep its members informed throughout.

It added: "It is important to note that this cannot be rushed.

"Pricing and funding streams have been discussed at length but there is still work to do and for now this information needs to be kept confidential.

"OxVox is also engaged with sports stadia specialists to look at funding streams, both pre and post a potential acquisition."

The organisation, which has 770 members, said it believes it has 'workable and deliverable' plans in place.
