A PUB will pour pints of golden ciders and chocolatey stouts as they join in with German tradition.

The Brewery Tap in Abingdon will host its annual beer bonanza Tapfest from today until midnight on Sunday, to coincide with the famous Oktoberfest held annually in Munich.

Bar manager Ben Samuels, who co-organised the event alongside colleague Tom Bruce, said: "Every year we have a huge turnout, it's very popular in the town. It's quite a community event and we have lots of families coming.

"We have a huge range of real ales and craft ciders - there is a chocolate stout that I'm very excited to try - and our own smokehouse on-site. The food is a variation on the normal menu, we have got things like pulled pork, beef brisket and smoked sausage."

It will mark Mr Samuels' first Tapfest after he joined the Ock Street pub earlier this year.

He said punters can enjoy 20 ales, six craft ciders and two canned ciders, including drinks from local breweries including Loose Cannon in Abingdon and Barn Owl in Gozzard's Ford.

Each can be poured in a pint size, half pint or one third of a pint, in commemorative Tapfest glasses that can be kept by customers.

Entry is free and there will also be live local bands on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.
