Following in the footsteps of Radiohead, Supergrass, Ride and Foals, Oxford band Glass Animals are well on their way to becoming one of the biggest bands in the world.

Their debut album, released on Paul Epworth’s label Wolf Tone, sold almost half a million copies worldwide and amassed a staggering 200 million Spotify streams. When they released their breakthrough single Gooey in 2014, it became the second most shared track on the site, worldwide, for the whole year.

Now the Jericho band are back with a new album– How to Be a Human Being, and on Saturday, took time out from touring to meet fans in their hometown.

Dave Bayley, Drew MacFarlane, Edmund Irwin-Singer and Joe Seaward signed copies of their album at the Truck Store music shop in Cowley Road.

Frontman Dave said: "Things are hectic but good.

"The new album is quite different. We have been playing live every day for two years and have got to appreciate the bolder points of our music and that mentality has influenced this record."

The album has been roundly praised by critics, A-listed by BBC Radio1, and chosen by Annie Mac as her Hottest Record in the World.

The band play Bestival on the Isle of Wight on September 8 (tickets from bestival.net) and the O2 Academy Oxford on October 21 (ticketweb.co.uk)
