A MAN killed when his car burst into flames in Cowley died from soot inhalation, an inquest heard.
Christi-Marian Bichir, 34, died when his Volvo S60 struck a road sign on the roundabout at Oxford Business Park South in the early hours of July 25.
The fire service was called to extinguish the resulting blaze but the driver, from Ridgefield Road, was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance crews.
Mr Bichir, who worked at a car wash in Cowley, had only moved to Oxford from Romania four months before his death.
At the opening of the inquest yesterday Oxfordshire Coroner Darren Salter said pathologists had given the cause of death as "soot inhalation".
