SWEET, sour, and extremely refreshing – this little lemonade stall might just be the business boom of the summer.

Ten-year-old Chaise Carter and his aunty Sophia McNulty, who is 12, have been wowing neighbours this week with their fantastic fruit juice.

The duo make the delicious drink in Sophia's mum's kitchen and have been selling it in front of her house in Croft Road, Marston, Oxford, every day since Tuesday.

On Thursday they started selling homemade cookies and cake and yesterday they launched a new succulent summer treat: homemade ice cream.

Sophia, who goes to Cherwell School, said: "It's been good. People have been saying it's really nice and refreshing.

"The homemade ice cream is amazing – I tried the strawberry and cookie monster flavour, and they're both my favourite."

Selling lemonade at £1 a glass, not only have the young entrepreneurs found a winning business recipe, they are also donating all their profits to charity, in honour of one of their relatives who is sick.

Chaise's great-uncle Billy Cranston, who is also Sophia's uncle, was diagnosed with cancer and is currently staying at Sobell House Hospice in Oxford.

The aunty and nephew were devastated that he was sick, but as the saying goes, when life hands you lemons – make lemonade.

So they decided to squeeze every penny out of their fundraising venture for the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children with cancer.

Chaise, who goes to St Nicholas Primary School, said: "My aunty was around my house and my dad had the idea of selling some really healthy juice and we said why don't we start a lemonade stand?

"We started on Tuesday then we added cakes and cookies and ice cream which is very nice."

The sweet-and-sour duo, who have now raised about £100 for the trust, were also inspired to fundraise after their lost their nan Meg Guthrie to cancer in December.

Sophia, who had not cut her hair since she was two years old, lopped it all off in January and donated it to the trust in honour of her grandmother.

Chaise's mum Leila Vickers said: "The beautiful thing is the kids have come up with it on their own.

"They've absolutely loved it, they don't want to stop.

"We're even thinking about looking at setting up the stall at the festivals next year."

The Lemonade Shack can be found on Croft Road, Marston, all this weekend.
