A woman walking through Christ Church Meadow with two young children was the victim of a "nasty attack" which saw her robbed of cash.

Two men approached her from behind, grabbed and stole cash during an early evening stroll through the park on Sunday, police said. 

The first man is described as Arabic, in his mid twenties, about 5 ft 8 ins, medium build with a beard.

The second man was also described as Arabic, in his mid twenties, with a skinny build and curly hair.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident that occurred between 6pm and 6.30pm.

Investigating officer, PC Isaac Van Den Eshof, of Oxford Local Area CID, said: “This was a nasty attack on a woman who had two young children with her at the time.

“I would encourage anyone who has any information about the incident to contact us on 24-hour non-emergency number 101.”
