LADIES from the Kidlington Town Women's Guild hosted a lucky dip with a difference at the village's annual Gala Day this weekend.
Hundreds converged on Exeter Close on Saturday for an activity-packed day out in the blazing sunshine with fun and games on offer to suit all ages.
Attractions this year included a fire engine display, balloon modelling, crafts and stalls from organisations including the Roundabout Quilters and the Royal British Legion.
The guild had multiple stalls at the event but 72-year-old Daphne Keenen was among a particularly well-dressed trip who turned out in vintage "Pick-a-pocket" dresses.
She said: "They are pinafore dresses with about 20 pockets on the front; instead of having a lucky dip with a tub a child comes up and dips into your pocket for a gift.
"They were actually made in 1977 for the Silver Jubilee; one of our members made them for us and we thought 'Let's use that for the gala'."
The group managed to raise about £65 for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
