THE hidden history of Oxford is waiting to be discovered – but it needs a bit of help make it come alive.

The Museum of Oxford has this week put out an appeal this week for more volunteers to bring some sparkle to their show.

Exhibits at the Oxford Town Hall museum in St Aldates tell the story of the city through archaeology, artefacts and interactive displays.

Current volunteer guide Mark Hunter said of his work: "It's the satisfaction of seeing the public who are really interested in the archaeology, the history and the finds which have been discovered.

"These are really well-presented here and it's our job to guide people through so they get the most out of their visit.

"Afterwards we point them in the direction of the city's other museums and famous landmarks."

The Museum of Oxford is open throughout the year, Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 5pm.
