A ROYAL troupe of tiny dancers will perform live on national television this week after getting through to the semi finals of Britain's Got Talent.

Youngsters from Elite Squad, an arm of Oxford's Blackbird Leys-based dance school Messy Jam, wowed the judges when they appeared in striking Queen's Guard uniforms for their audition at the Dominion Theatre.

Following their audition, which was aired last month, the group were announced as one of the 40 acts through to the show's semi-finals last night.

Founder Ellisha Peart, from Barton, said: "The guys are all really excited.

"It's going to be really different appearing live from when we auditioned.

"There is a lot of amazing talent competing who have a lot of followers, but for us this is the first major thing that we have done."

Each of the group members, who are all aged nine to 13, were dressed to impress in costumes hand-customised by Miss Peart, 33, and other parents.

The semi-finals start tonight and will each feature about 10 acts each competing for two places in the final each night, but the group do not yet know which show they will take part in.

The final will be held next weekend.
