"THE UK'S best Klezmer band" will perform live at Oxford's third annual Jewish Street fair next week.

Broad Street will resound to the sound of She'koyokh Klezmer ensemble while visitors tuck into shawarma, falafel and bagels from 1pm to 5pm on Thursday.

Israeli and Jewish art will be shown off and people will be able to learn crafts like Shabbat Kiddush Cup Making, Challah baking and a candle crafting.

Younger visitors will be able to take pony rides while scholars peruse Steimatzky's and Joseph's bookstores and a Jewish Scribal Stand.

The pious will even be able to pray for peace or make a personal wish at The Western Wall.

The third annual Lag B'omer street fair is once again being organised by Oxford University Chabad Society which is based at the Slager Jewish student and community centre in George Street.

Director Rabbi Eli Brackman said: "The purpose of the fair is to celebrate the full scope of Jewish culture, history and tradition through an informative, fun and educational festival, demonstrating the vibrancy and relevance of Jewish life in the 21st century in the UK and around the world, as well as pride in its long history over centuries in Oxford."

The event is also support by the Oxford Jewish Congregation, Oxford City Council, Flaggs College Store Oxford and financed by Heritage Lottery Funding.
