Sales of Mini's last month were the highest in the brands history, its makers have announced.
A total of 39,061 vehicles were sold to customers worldwide, an increase of 6.6% to the same month last year.
The BMW group also announced 78,311 cars were sold in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 5.4% on last year.
Frank Bachmann, managing director of the Mini plant in Oxford, said: "These record breaking March figures are great news for everyone who works to produce the iconic British Mini here in Oxford for our customers worldwide."
Peter Schwarzenbauer, from the BMW AG management board, said: "Customers around the world are responding to the attractive new models we have in our line-up, as is proven by our record sales."
