A woman was treated by paramedics at a home in Kidlington this afternoon after a carbon monoxide alarm went off in the property.

Crews from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the house in Ploughley Close and entered wearing breathing gear at about 1pm.

Spokesman Mark Goddy said the house's occupants were evacuated but could not confirm whether they would have been able to return in the afternoon.

The ambulance service were also called to the scene at 1.54pm.

Spokesman David Gallagher said the call was passed to crews by the fire service "reporting a female who was suffering head spins and nausea and her carbon monoxide alarm was going off".

He added: "Fire advised her to vacate the property immediately and we sent a Rapid Response Vehicle to the scene.

"She was treated at the scene by the paramedic and didn't require hospital treatment."
