HOW would you feel if 33 million people watched a video of you being tricked on the internet?

It happened to Sarah Evans and she has never been happier.

The 31-year-old from Oxford was one of eight Adele impersonators tricked into performing one of the star’s own songs in front of her for a skit on the BBC’s Graham Norton Show.

Now people are trying to book her to perform around the world.

Miss Evans, who is bringing up her 16-week-old daughter Reagan while studying animal biology at Oxford Brookes University, said meeting her idol was “absolutely immense”.

She added: “Adele is an incredible vocalist – she’s worth millions but she’s still so humble.”

Miss Evans, who is originally from Weston-super-Mare, came to study in Oxford in 2012.

She started performing her Adele tribute, J’Adele, just a year ago, recording demos and videos.

Then, in October, BBC producers asked if she would like to be involved in a new documentary series about tribute acts.

Days later she was being shepherded into the New Wimbledon Theatre to give a demo performance to camera alongside eight other Adele wannabes.

Little did they know that the quiet girl in the corner calling herself “Jenny” was not all she seemed.

Miss Evans said she thought straight away that something wasn’t quite right.

She recalled: “It was all really hush-hush. We were locked in this little changing room. It was all so secretive, I was like – ‘she’s definitely going to show up’.

“This was the BBC and they were definitely going to prank us.”

Some four million people watched the show, and a video of the sketch has been seen more than 33 million times.
