Former Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage MEP will take part in an Oxford Union debate on Britain's membership of the European Union.

The debate, open to members of the Oxford Union only, will take place on Monday at 8.30pm.

Speaking for the motion, This House Believes Britain and the EU are Better Together, will be Jose Manuel Barroso, former Prime Minister of Portugal, and Liberal Democrat MP Mr Clegg.

Speaking against will be Sir William Cash MP, chairman of the House of Commons' European Scrutiny Committee, and founder of the Maastricht Referendum Campaign.

He has been described as the most Eurosceptic member of Parliament.

Also speaking against the motion will be Mr Farage, leader of the UK Independence Party, and chairman of the Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy group.

A ballot for dinner and drinks with the guest speakers closes today at 3pm.
