A 25-year-old cyclist is in a serious but stable condition after a crash involving a lorry.

The woman suffered serious injuries to her arm and head in the collision on the Watlington Road, Oxford, at 5.10pm yesterday.

Thames Valley Police said the collision - which happened close to the Lidl store - involved a Mercedes articulated HGV and a bicycle.

The cyclist was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital and the lorry driver was uninjured.

Investigating officer PC Matt Bowden said: “The collision happened during a busy time of day, therefore it is possible that the incident was seen by a number of motorists and pedestrians.

"I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision itself or the vehicles prior to the collision as they travelled towards Blackbird Leys to contact police."
