Chiltern Railways passengers travelling to London from Oxford Parkway suffered delays this morning following a points failure.

Spokeswoman Nicola Clark said services to London Marylebone were affected following the points failure at Bicester South junction at about 8.15am.

She added that staff "shuttled" passengers from Oxford Parkway to Bicester Village, then took them by taxi to Bicester North station so they could continue their journey.

Ms Clark said: "One or two services were affected and it was a blip - we apologise for the disruption caused.

"Normal services resumed after 9am but slight disruption could continue for the next hour or so - we hope not."

Passengers boarded the first trains at the new Oxford Parkway station on Sunday, October 25.

It is the first new station linking a major city to London for more than 100 years.
