Barton’s neighbourhood police sergeant says his team will continue to crack down on drugs supply in the area after an operation resulted in two arrests.
Thames Valley Police swooped on a home in Edgecombe Road on Tuesday in connection with an operation to stop drug dealing on the estate.
A 46-year-old man of no fixed abode and a 41-year-old woman from Oxford were arrested on suspicion of intent to supply class A drugs. They have been released on police bail until January 16.
Sgt Martyn Williams said: “The arrests we have made have come about following ongoing investigation and intelligence from members of the public and our partner organisations. We would encourage anyone who wishes to report any activity of drug dealing to come forward to help us in our priority to tackle this issue.
“We will not tolerate drugs on our streets and our officers will continue to investigate and disrupt any activity to supply them.”
