THE DRIVER who left a teenager bleeding in Blackbird Leys Road after crashing into him is still being sought by police.
Officers are re-appealing for information after the driver of a light-coloured car failed to stop following the collision in Blackbird Leys Road, between Balfour Road and Sandy Lane West, on Friday.
The driver stopped for a moment, getting out to have a look at injured 18-year-old Tarak Alam, but then drove off towards Cowley.
Mr Alam's shocked family made a heart-felt plea for information about the crash in Monday's Oxford Mail.
The car had crashed into the City of Oxford College student while he was walking on a pelican crossing.
Tarak was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with serious head and limb injuries. He has since been discharged.
Officers now believe they have recovered the car involved, after a fire-damaged vehicle was recovered in Burcot Lane, Wallingford on Monday.
Investigating officer Sgt Beth Walton said anyone with information should contact police immediately on 101.
