Ten people have been arrested following a fight in Botley yesterday.

Police were called to reports of a fight between 10 to 15 men in The Square behind Elms Parade at about 4.30pm.

Ten men, aged between eighteen and thirty-eight, were arrested on suspicion of affray.

Eight of those arrested remain in police custody this afternoon. The other two have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Det Sgt Roger Lamboll, officer in the case from Force CID in Abingdon, said: “One man sustained injuries to his head and hand and was taken to hospital where he remains. His injuries are not life threatening.

“Although a number of witnesses have already come forward, I would urge anyone else with information to contact us.

“The incident would have attracted quite a lot of attention due to the fact that it happened in broad daylight involving several people.”
