POWERFUL miniature Japanese Samurai warriors pulled their best war faces at an Ashmolean Museum event this week.

The museum in Beaumont Street hosted two Samurai-themed activity sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. Children of all ages got involved in making a Samurai helmet and learnt about Japanese history.

Head of education at the Ashmolean Jo Rice said: “More than 400 people took part. Families could make a Samurai helmet and mask, design and make a Japanese fan, try origami and enjoy a family tour of the Japan galleries.”

The Ashmolean is hosting fun family events every Wednesday and Thursday between 1pm and 4pm. Next week children can hear stories about Chinese Dragons while the following week they can study objects from the Anglo-Saxon period.
