Lines have now re-opened between Oxford and Charlbury following signalling problems.
Train services are returning to normal this morning but First Great Western said there may still be some residual delays to some journeys.
The problem began on Monday after a dead bird was stuck in points near the level crossing at Sandy Lane, Yarnton.
FGW had hoped to clear the disruption by the end of Monday, and then by Tuesday, but finally fixed the fault at about 10am today.
