YOUNG rugby players in Oxford took part in some post-Easter egg chasing after a visit from England rugby international Nick Easter.
Harlequins player Mr Easter gave a coaching masterclass to children at Camp Energy in Summertown on Wednesday, teaching forward skills and how to lead a driving maul.
After training Mr Easter joined the children for a question and answer session. He was quizzed on the best player he had played against, the best diet for a rugby player, and the banter in the England dressing room.
Mr Easter said: “It was really impressive how hard the kids worked, especially some of the younger ones who told me they had been playing since five years old.”
Head coach Barry Grinham, 61, said: “Nick did a great session with the kids and then they tried out a driving maul against me and the rest of the staff.
“He made a big emphasis on education, and talked positively about the importance of getting a degree while playing professional rugby.”
Mr Grinham is aiming to get more high-profile players to visit the camp this summer, and said he is hoping to persuade former Ireland captain Brian O’Driscoll to take a session soon.
