OXFORD’S Sophie Sumner has done it all.

She was the runner-up of Britain’s Next Top Model in 2009, winner of America’s Next Top Model in 2012, is best friends with Emma Watson and is now gracing our screens in reality show Taking New York.

Having lived in Manhattan for two years, the former Oxford schoolgirl is now enjoying the American dream as part of the E4 programme which chronicles the lives of twenty-something British friends and their life across the pond. As Miss Sumner put it: “It’s the American Made In Chelsea.”

Talking of her success, she said: “Although we filmed the series over a year ago, I am still absolutely loving living in New York. Doesn’t it look so gorgeous on the television screens? It’s great to enjoy the sunshine with my friends from the programme.”

While she’s revelling in her recent success, the 25-year-old, who lived in Kidlington while growing up and achieved two As and a B at A-Level, said she misses Oxford every day and regularly feels homesick.

She said: “There will be times when I just want to sit down with a cup of tea and a biscuit and have a cry with my mum back home.

“But obviously she’s not here so it’s fantastic to have made these friends on Taking New York because they’re now my support system for when I’m missing Oxford and my family.
