HOPEFULLY the computers didn’t crash when these girls got a crash course in computer coding.
The youngsters went to an all-day coding workshop at Blackbird Leys Youth and Community Centre on Sunday.
They got a chance to learn how to program small games as well as coding videos and photos that could then be uploaded to the internet, including their own Facebook pages.
Eleanor Arneil said: “It’s been really interesting and fun and I can’t wait to do some coding.”
The Code4Girls session was put on by the British Science Association as part of British Science Week, March 13 to 22.
Louise Ogden said: “Girls often see computing and science as boring and too difficult. We were proving that that is not the case.
The idea was to introduce the potential that coding has to make music literally, for girls to show their creative work on the net.”
