Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Hannah Williams said officers were called at about 1.10pm to a two-vehicle collision near the Kidlington junction.

Ms Williams said officers were also called at about 1.40pm to the A34 northbound near the Islip turn when a Vauxhall Astra was in a collision with a Ford Fiesta.

No one was hurt in the second incident.

Shortly after 2pm a lorry left the A34 and ploughed through a crash barrier into a field near Hinksey Heights Golf Club.

Police and ambulance crews were called after the HGV crashed off the southbound carriageway.

No other vehicles were involved and the driver was treated at the scene by ambulance crews for minor injuries.

There are also long delays and traffic is heavier than normal on the A40 Westbound between the B4150 at Marston and Eynsham Road at the Cassington Traffic Lights. The delays heading away from Oxford are partly due to earlier recovery work at Barnard Gate following an accident.

The M40 has now been cleared and traffic flow has returned to normal after  a four-vehicle collision between junction 10 at Brackley and junction 9 at Bicester at 1.30pm.
