A horse rider in her 20s, whose career was nurtured by Oxfordshire trainer Lawney Hill, last night remained “seriously ill” in hospital after a fall at a Melbourne racetrack.

Liz Rice, who lived in Chinnor and trained at Aston Rowant racecourse suffered serious head injuries in a fall at Caulfield racecourse, where she works for the stable Aquanita, on Monday.
