POLICE found 230 cannabis plants when they raided a house in Palmer Road, Wood Farm, Oxford.

Officers raided the three-bedroom house at 7.55am yesterday when they discovered every room was being used for cannabis production.

Police said no arrests were made at the private, rented property, which was raided as part of Operation Falcon, a joint social services and police clampdown on drugs.

The "factory" was being dismantled by police yesterday.

Sgt Steve Willis said: "Every room in the house was being used for growing cannabis. The bathroom was being used for mixing chemicals and there was a ton of soil in the front room.

"It is very important for local residents to be on the look-out for things that may be suspicious.

"Surely someone must have seen someone taking strange items and grow bags in and out of this house.

"I would ask local residents to be vigilant because these drug factories are a fire hazard, because they often have illegal wiring in them."

Last Wednesday, police unconvered another cannabis farm in Valentia Road, Headington.

Last month, police recovered 600 cannabis plants with a potential street value of £100,000 from a house in Cottesmore Road, Rose Hill.
