Oxford University tops table for research calibre
Oxford University has been ranked number one in the UK for the quality of its research.
The University came out on top of the official assessment of all university research, the Research Excellence Framework.
Oxford submitted 2,409 members of its academic staff, in 31 different areas, to the assessment panel.
The panel placed 48 per cent of them in the top 4* category and 39 per cent in the next best 3* category.
The results also see Oxford top the pile in 12 individual academic subjects for volume of world-leading research.
