SEVENTY homes and businesses in Jericho suffered from an all-day power cut yesterday.
Phoenix Picturehouse, in Walton Street, cancelled film screenings after the power went off at 8.30am.
Scottish and Southern Energy technicians found the underground fault and cut supply to 70 homes while repairs were made in the afternoon. The company hoped to have power back to everyone by 7pm and apologised to customers.
After a separate boiler malfunction, St Barnabas’ Primary School, in Hart Street, North Oxford, is closed today.
