HUNDREDS of runners dressed in Christmas costumes to raise money for hospices across Oxfordshire.

The festive fun run in Thame yesterday raised money for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity.

The town’s run was started by Thame Leisure Centre’s Jo Hubbick and Emma Way who dressed as reindeer to host a warm-up for the runners.

Mrs Way, an instructor at the gym, said: “We found a remix of Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas and did a fun warm-up before the run.

“It was really basic because the event was geared for families and little kids.”

As well as helping the runners get started, Mrs Way ran the 3km course with her five-year-old daugher Caitlin.

The 34-year-old said: “It was really great, Caitlin loved it.

“She ran the whole thing without stopping so she was very proud when she got to the end.

“They were giving out little medals and presents to the kids which I thought was lovely.”

There was also a festive fun run in Banbury to raise funds for Katharine House Hospice.
