A CITY-based charity has received a National Lottery grant to help conserve and improve the bee population in the city.

Oxford Friends of the Earth were given £7,490 from the Big Lottery Fund to continue delivering workshops to local faith groups on how they can use their green spaces to create bee-friendly habitats.

The charity was nominated for the Campaign of the Year award at the Earthmover awards in July 2014 for their work in promoting bee awareness.
