VOLUNTEERS from Oxford’s Helen & Douglas House hospice shone a light on the work of the charity as part of the Streetlight Festival.

The celebration of live music, art and performance included beatboxers, poets and jazz bands, and took place at venues in Magdalen Road, over the weekend.

Puppeteer Kerstin Friedrichs was there to support the hospice.

She said: “East Oxford is a great place, lots of life and joy. It’s lovely to be part of the festival telling stories and sharing art.”

Families were given a chance to make butterflies for a butterfly tribute at the hospice, which is designed as a way to remember people who have passed away.

Art created by young people staying at Helen & Douglas House was also on display during the festival, along with an angel crafted by Ms Friedrichs.
