A BOAT owner came home to find her boat on fire in the Osney Mill Marina in Millbank last night.
The woman called fire crews to her green boat at about 5.20pm after returning to find her smoke alarm going and an orange glow inside the boat.
An engineer at the marina Neil White, who also owns a boat in the marina, said: “We don’t know what happened because the stove was off and there were no candles lit or anything.”

Thames Valley Police said the fire was not being treated as suspicious, but fire crew manager Paul Harding said the source of the fire was unknown and the team was investigating.
He added: “We dealt with a small, smouldering fire on the boat. It was nothing to do with gas, we isolated that when we arrived.
“The owner was renovating the boat. This is a really good example of why smoke alarms are so important, because it was what alerted the occupier to the fire.”
