People can now collect parcels from the East Oxford Royal Mail delivery office on Sundays.

The Ledgers Close office, one of 100 around the UK taking part in a pilot scheme, is currently only open six days a week, but will in future also open from noon to 4pm on Sundays.

Andrew:Oxford says...

A very welcome plan.

Now, how about allowing customers to make a standing instruction with their delivery office to automatically hold items that won't fit through a letter box, recorded delivery mail and special delivery mail at the delivery office?

Just drop a postcard (or send a text message) through the door to say "As instructed, we've left item number at the delivery office for you to collect by xx/xx/20xx"

It's just being considerate to the Postie so that they don't have to lug something round on a wasted effort and to my neighbours who work nights.
