WITNEY Lions Club has bid farewell to a 35-year-old caravan after being given a grant for a new trailer.
The club has been given a grant of £5,600 from the Big Lottery Fund to pay for a replacement for the worn-out caravan.
It was used to transport the club’s event equipment but this will now be transported in a purpose-built trailer.
Club president Rod Attewell said: “We very much appreciate this grant from the Big Lottery Fund that has enabled us to purchase this new equipment without using any of our charity money.
“We always try to ensure that every penny donated to the club goes to local good causes.”
The trailer cost £4,400. The rest of the money will be spent on a new marquee.
