CONTROVERSIAL plans for 20 homes in North Leigh will be put to councillors for a decision on Monday.

West Oxfordshire District Council’s lowlands area planning sub-committee will consider the plan for land off Park Road.

Planning officer Phil Shaw has recommended that members refuse the plan over its landscape impact and because it does not include provision for half the homes to be classed as affordable housing.

The council has received 50 letters opposing the plan, rasing concerns about traffic safety in Park Road and the impact on the character of the village and the landscape.

The sub-committee meeting at the council’s Woodgreen offices in Witney starts at 2pm. Members of the public can attend.
