EILEEN Cameron-Kirby was looking for a new art medium to enhance her photography, and she might just have found it.

Mrs Cameron-Kirby, a keen amateur photographer from Temple Cowley, joined others at a free printing workshop at Modern Art Oxford (MAO).

She now hopes to combine printing techniques with her photographs to produce something which will wow the other members of Oxford Photographic Society.

Mrs Cameron-Kirby, who is retired, said: “I wanted to look into the possibility of using mixed media, combining photographic elements with the hand-made.

“I don’t have any particularly manual skills in the arts – I can press the button on my camera but sometimes it’s nice to have something hand-made.

“I was also looking for something that wouldn’t take years and years to learn.”

But, she said, she wouldn’t be holding her first exhibition any time soon.

The printing workshop, on Tuesday, was run by professional printer Richard Lawrence.

It was part of a five-week test run programme of activities at the Pembroke Street gallery.
