A BARRISTER has accused a woman, who says she was sexually assaulted and then threatened, of making things up.

The woman alleges she was the victim of a sexual assault after she woke up on a sofa in a shared house in Cowley Road, Oxford, in the early hours of December 17, 2011.

Bilal Ahmed, 27, from Maidenhead, is accused of carrying out the crime and is on trial alongside his cousin Zeeshan Ahmed, 28, of Palmer Road, Wood Farm, Oxford, who allegedly perverted the course of justice.

Mustafa Ahmed, 26, from London, was also a defendant in the case but has now admitted sexually assaulting the same woman after she woke up on a sofa.

Yesterday Jeannie Mackie, defending Zeeshan Ahmed, said the claim he sent her threatening messages using the Blackberry Messenger service were false.

Miss Mackie said: “There’s no evidence that those messages even existed. Everything has been deleted.”

The jury retired to consider its verdict yesterday.

Both defendants deny the charges.
