OINK! Oink! The star of the show came to a city butcher’s ahead of its appearance at Oxford Playhouse.
Alan Bennett’s Betty Blue Eyes tells the story of cash-strapped Gilbert Chilvers’s attempts to snatch a pig destined for a function to mark the forthcoming 1947 marriage of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
Meeting the puppet and Lauren Logan, pictured, who plays Betty, was Mark Stoker, of Hedges Butchers in the city’s Covered Market, who said: “I haven’t seen it, it seems quite good.”
The musical – which premiered in the West End in 2011 – was due to begin last night and runs until Sunday.
