COUNCIL workers were called to Cutteslowe Pavilion in North Oxford over the weekend after complaints about sewage.

Oxford City Council was alerted following reports that sewage was leaking from the pavilion. Workmen were on site on Saturday cleaning up the area.

City council spokesman Louisa Dean said: “We are aware of the problem and doing our best to keep the area clean.

“We have had a high-pressure water jet there regularly to deal with the situation.

“We know that this is not an ideal situation and we are working to rectify it.

“We have had the drain surveyed with a camera and the work to repair it has been ordered.

“We hope that the situation will be resolved as soon as possible.

“We thank the park users for their patience in the meantime.”
