The developer behind the £100m West Way, Botley, proposals has started an e-petition for supporters to sign.
Doric Properties said it hoped people in favour of the scheme would show support in the run-up to its final submission of planning documents after their consultation finishes on Saturday.
It wants to build a supermarket, cinema, hotel, restaurants and cafes, 525 student bedrooms, community spaces and a Baptist church at the West Way shops.
A Doric spokesman said: “We know from Facebook that there are many supporters of this scheme.
“But there has been a formal campaign against our proposals as well, so this is a way for people who support our plans to show that in a formal way as well.”
