A child was taken to hospital after he and a car collided in Headington.
The boy was hurt in the incident, which invovled a silver Renault Clio on The Roundway, on Wednesday.
Police and ambulance were called just after 6.30pm, and closed the road until 8.50pm.
Thames Valley Police did not release the information until now.
The child was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, and was reportedly kept overnight for observation.
The female driver gave a statement to the police, and has not been arrested.
Witness Jamie Gardiner, who works at Oxford Ink, said that the boy appeared to have cuts on his face as a result of the collision.
