IT IS not just cats up trees anymore.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue has expanded its operations to birds under fridges.
On May 9, firefighter Ellie Hathaway, pictured, rescued this frazzled pigeon which was stuck behind a refrigeration unit at wholesaler Booker on Osney Mead estate.
Fire crews were called to a small fire caused by litter trapped under the unit shortly after 1pm. After putting out the fire, they rescued the bird, which was damp and frightened.
Ms Hathaway said: “He was trapped behind the wall. I reckon he’ll dry off and he’ll be all right.”
