A fundraiser is to be held for a campaign in memory of a city teenager who died at an NHS unit.

The Saturday, May 31, event will go towards legal costs for the forthcoming inquest into the July 2013 death of Headington’s Connor Sparrowhawk, 18, pictured. He is believed to have drowned after suffering an epileptic fit in the bath at the Short Term Assessment and Treatment Team (STATT), Slade House, Headington.

An investigation said 15-minute bath time checks on the teenager, who had learning difficulties, were unsafe and criticised other assessments.

The event, at the Roman Way sports and Social Club, off Horspath Road, Cowley, includes music, a bar and food.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Oxfordshire Family Support Network charity.
